What does a German SEO copywriter do for US companies?
A German SEO copywriter writes pages that answer the questions German customers actually type into Google. A word-for-word translation of an English page rarely does that. German search terms often differ from the literal translation. Tone differs too: German B2B copy usually addresses readers with the formal “Sie”. I research German keywords from scratch and write the page for German search intent.
What is transcreation, and when do you need it?
Transcreation means rewriting a text for a new market instead of translating it line by line. You need it for landing pages, product pages and campaigns where the message has to work emotionally and in search. I keep your brand voice and your key claims. I replace idioms, examples and search terms that do not work in Germany.
Can I work white label for your agency?
Yes. I write under your agency’s name, and your clients only see your brand. My clients work with non-disclosure agreements, so I don’t name them here. Since 2020 I have written for an international agency group, first for its Swiss parent company and, since July 2024, for its large US agency. I also write for a global business network, a leading CRM provider and a beauty clinic in Hamburg.
What makes my background relevant?
I lead the content team at Hanseranking, an online marketing agency in Hamburg. I have written SEO copy since 2017. Before that, I worked as a journalist and editor-in-chief. In 2015, I worked on the final copy edit of the digital editions of GEO EPOCHE and GEO SAISON, a German history magazine and a German travel magazine. Final copy editing means checking facts, names and numbers before publication.
